BFSI Technologies CXO Summit

A two-day ‘BFSI Technologies Summit’ was organised by Naseba on October 29-30, 2009 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. In his keynote address on ‘Developing Synergies between Technology and Banking System’ Arun  Das, vice president (VP) and business head for BFSI vertical in enterprise services, Bharti Airtel emphasised on the importance of transforming technology for the banking industry through service-oriented, scalable and cost-effective solutions that provide convergence for diverse services. Sandeep Phanasgaonkar, president and chief technology officer (CTO), Reliance Capital, stressed the importance of having an information centric approach to data protection to help organisations store information efficiently, protect data from loss or misuse, optimise IT operations, and leverage information for new business value. Radhakrishnan Rajagopalan, global delivery head, data warehousing business intelligence and performance management, Cognizant Technology Solutions, speaking on ‘Developing End-To-End Capability in Business Intelligence (BI)’ stressed on building a BI environment for the end-user by infusing behavioural aspects in the BI with personalised BI content, seamless information sharing, integrated metadata services, and business continuity through independent centralised web-based report access applications. Sriram Naganathan, chief technology and operations officer (CTOO), Reliance General Insurance in his address on 'Managing IT Budgets in Changing Economic Scenario' emphasised chief information officers’ (CIOs) shifting priorities to BI, enterprise applications, and storage technologies. Speaking on ‘Smarter Analytics’ Prashant Tewari, country manager - enterprise sales, Sybase India emphasised the power of advanced analytics to improve revenue potential and plug revenue leaks in retail banking; improve quality of accounts and reduce payouts in insurance.
